Jessica A. Silverman is a passionate advocate for your needs whether a fierce ally in the courtroom or a level head at the conference table. No stranger to trial, Ms. Silverman honed her practice in the courtroom working at the San Diego Public Defender's office before focusing on family law. She's capable of fighting for you through to trial, but is sensible enough to pursue other options when advantageous to her clients.
Ms. Silverman has exclusively practiced family law for the last eight years. She began her family law career by representing victims of domestic violence living in temporary shelters. Ms. Silverman has experience working with clients of diverse backgrounds and socioeconomic status, including high asset, high conflict, and highly complex situations.
Ms. Silverman received her juris doctor in 2012 from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City, graduating with concentrations in 'Constitutional Law and Rights' and 'Criminal Law and Procedure'. While in law school, she spent a year interning at the Innocence Project, a non-profit that seeks to exonerate the wrongly convicted. Ms. Silverman earned her B.A. in both Psychology and Legal Studies in 2008 from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Ms. Silverman is admitted to practice law in California, New York, and New Jersey, and is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association and the San Diego Family Law Bar Association.
As a third generation San Diegan, she loves being able to live and work in her hometown. In her spare time Ms. Silverman enjoys playing tennis, reading, swimming and trying out new recipes to make when hosting her next dinner party.
